Active Shooter preparedness Training
Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.
Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.
At Rapid Tactical Action (R.T.A), our primary mission is to equip civilians and organizations with the knowledge, protocols, and practical tactics necessary to survive an active shooter event through education and hands on training. Rapid Tactical Action aims to ensure that individuals are well prepared to survive an active shooter event.
Our S.E.A. course is a classroom and hands on course where Active Shooter Events (ASEs) will be analyzed and discussed. Classroom instruction will include critical discussion not only on the actions of the shooter/intruder but what the civilians did correctly or incorrectly during these attacks. The second portion of the course is dedicated to teaching proper lockdown tactics and protocols for both interior and exterior lockdowns. RTA will also instruct on practical techniques that can be used to secure doors where physical locks are not present. These methods can prevent the attacker from gaining access to your location. The third portion of the course will walk participants through hand-to-hand tactics and options if they are faced with the last resort of having to attack the perpetrator. Medical treatment instruction is also provided during the course with an emphasis on proper tourniquet application to stop extremity bleeding. The course concludes with the participants implementing the techniques and tactics presented during the classroom portion of the training with hands on simulated scenarios.
R.T.A. instructors are all current law enforcement officers and first responders with combined training and experience of over 50 years. Instructors are comprised of S.W.A.T. team members, S.W.A.T. instructors, Firearms instructors, Defensive Tactics instructors, Rescue Task Force instructors and Firefighters. The instructors' specialized knowledge and expertise is incorporated into the training which is invaluable during an active shooter event.
SECURE:
Secure the location you occupy. This involves using methods that make it as difficult as possible for the active shooter to gain access to you and others. Participants will learn multiple techniques to secure various types of doors including those without any locking mechanisms.
ESCAPE:
Escape if you are not in a location you can secure. Escape from that area to a location you can secure or escape out of the building carefully while observing your surroundings for any additional threats. Instructors will demonstrate how to tactically escape safely.
ATTACK:
If securing or escaping is not an option, as a last resort ATTACK the shooter. Participants will learn about effective areas of striking and using common items as weapons against the shooter. You must attack 100% with everything you have knowing you are in a FIGHT FOR YOUR LIFE!
Participates will learn proper medical techniques and tourniquet application.
